"Black Sheep" is so inspirational - not in a cheezy cliche way - but truly inspirational. It makes a bold statement both in it's lyrics and it's video concept. The line "Be proud to be a black sheep" turns conventional wisdom on it's ear and transforms it into a mantra about individuality and living up to your potential. Chloe Jean is an uber talented, dynamic performer. Here's what some fans say about her and the video:
"This song is Epic!"
"Imagine how it felt when people first heard the likes of Chaka Khan? Streisand? Aretha? Diana? This is our generation's version of the electrifying new talent. Watch and listen! Seriously."

The video for "Speed of Sound" is one of the best examples I've seen of the marriage of curated footage and original song. The footage is artfully and masterfully synchronized with the musical motifs and clever lyrics. Alzara & Brother Spellbinder have a Bohemian Folk sound that's both unique and familiar. Here are my two favorite stand-out moments in their lyrics:
"Every lover leaves a gaping hole." and "There's a human underneath each shell."
This video was recently selected for annual curated performing artist showcase in tribute to Day of the Dead at SOMarts gallery.

In honor of the debut of our Holiday shows, here's a rockin' good time Holiday video by Whitney Wolanin. This version of Run, Run Rudolph was released in 2013 and is available from iTunes on the mini Christmas album of the same name. This is a fun and quirky video and the guitarist playing the solos is amazing. Whitney's vocals sound as vibrant as ever. Whitney's newest Holiday cover, Silver Bells, is featured on our Podcast today as well. Listen to the Podcast: http://bit.ly/Dec012014Show

"Holiday", written by Bryan Sing, features the lush and sultry voice of Casey Schreiber, a newcomer to WOSRadio. Casey's artistic point of view is influenced by diverse musicians including Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Fleetwood Mac and Bonnie Raitt. The video offers a picturesque landscape that portrays the intense emotion of the lyrics.

If you've ever loved somone and had to let them go, you will identify with the depth of emotion in this haunting song. "Hard Love" by Brocka delivers on every level. The lyrics portray a profound longing that may stir up feelings you have buried or don't want to admit to. The result...catharsis! The music builds and pulses like a beating heart adding to the drama and the vocal is beautifully and pleadingly sung. Enjoy the video and catch the song debuting all week on our "What's on my iPod" New Music Show weekdays at 5 PM ET, 2 PM PT on WOSRadio.

This is probably my favorite song we are debuting this month on WOSRadio and it's debuting this week on the "What's on my iPod" New Music Show (5 PM ET, 2 PM PT). It is fresh, creative and catchy while sharing a deep message that is so universal yet from a non-cliched perspctive. "Street Art" is the debut single from Dana's 2014 EP of the same name. The video features Malta's first ever Reverse Graffiti project by the world-renowned Moose Curtis. Cueing off of the massive positive feeback from Dana's fans, I know our audience will enjoy this video.

"Immoartal" has a smooth groove and seductive lyrics. The story told within the song is mysterious and the ominous video adds to the intrigue. Here's what some of Lady Ginseng's fans have to say:
"What a voice!" "Amazing song - still addicted to it!!!"
"Immortal" is the debut single from Lady Ginseng's recent EP "Piece of My Mind".

Wow - this woman can sing! Victoria Benesch portrays such deep emotion through her bluesy yet delicate voice. One minute her soaring vocals will make you smile, the next minute you'll almost hear the tears in her voice as she pulls your heart strings. "Gravity" is an amazingly soul-wrenching song and this video captures the scene and mood in the studio as Victoria laid down these exposed, gutsy vocals. "Gravity" debuts this week on WOSRadio.

"Heartbreakin' Woman" is a straight up, rock 'n roll good time. Evol Walks is a talented rock band with a compelling lead vocalist, and this concert-style video shows off their performing prowess. After watching this, I was checking their concert dates for a gig in my area because they are clearly a force of nature on stage and one not to be missed.

We stumbled upon Jessica Rhaye's talent in the early stages of her career (about 6 years ago) and have been following her blossoming development as an artist ever since. Her most recent album, "Far Gone Lullabies" is a treasure trove of upbeat Acoustic Pop gems and sensative ballads like this one. In this touching, sun-drenched video for "We'll Get By", Jessica celebrates the power of love and family.

For the past 10 days we have been featuring unique covers of songs from the 50s & 60s on our "We've Got It Covered" series. One of my favorites has to be Sarah Pigion's version of "Across the Universe." I know this may be blasphemy to some, but I never cared for the Beatles version - too psychedelic for this Beatles fan. But this sweet arrangement has won me over. Sarah's vocals are delicate yet strong and the instrumentals skillfully maintain the momentum so it never gets boring. Check out this video recorded live in the "studio" from "The Living Room Sessions."

We wanted to start out the week with a positive, uplifting song with a great message. We found just that in "For The Living" by Beth Wimmer. Beth sings this earthy folk tune with conviction amidst a glorious backdrop of flowing water and leafy landscapes. The lyrics cast new light on the struggles we all endure and encourage us to find confort and inspiration in our sthared experiences.

FUE has been a popular band on WOSRadio for the past year. In fact, "Go On" from their recently released "Gray Matters" album, has been in our Top 20 for the past two months. The video is upbeat and the colorful live performance scenes are eye-catching. It is clear that FUE loves being on stage and connecting with their audience. Joanna's vocals are superb!

It has been 10 years since the release of Butterfly Boucher's acclaimed "Flutterby" album. To celebrate, she re-visited and re-recorded the whole album, this time with the help of friends and fans. This video begins with a candid discussion with Sarah McLachlan about the difficulties getting the album promoted and convincing the label to allow Butterfly to tour with Sarah. It ends with a kock-out version of Never Leave Your Heart Alone with Sarah singing backups.
Watching this is ime well spent. You'll surely want to click the link to purchase Flutterby re-visited.

Check out the new song and video by WOSRadio long-time favorite Helen Austin. "Wide Awake", from Helen's LA studio album "You Know Me" produced by Bleu, showcases the quirky and melodically hook-filled songwriting Helen is known for. The skillfully crafted melody, coupled with a dagger-to-the-soul lyric about a relationship reduced to autopilot, makes for a powerful and memorable combination.

Solveig Whittle is a talented singer/songwriter and social media maven @shadesofsolveig. Light The Fire by Solveig & Stevie is now in heavy rotation on WOSRadio, and it's accompanying video was just released last week. They've created some cool effects by filming using a Phantom Quadcopter Drone. You can definitely "feel the heat" coming off of this hypnotic track and engaging video.
